Domain names are important for any business because it is how people find you online and remember your website. Some end in .com, .net or .org. But now recently, an extension of .xxx has been created for the adult entertainment industry.
How does this affect your practice? Well, they can use ANY domain name they like, including yours! Imagine waking up one morning to find your domain name with .xxx at the end that leads to a pornographic website. But you can take action.

Some people think that since Facebook has taken over marketing and advertising channels, and traffic has decreased on their website means that they don’t need one. Well, they couldn’t be more wrong! Hi everyone! We’re so excited to announce it, as it’s been a long time in the making, but we are proud to unveil our new website! We are very excited about the new site. Not only because it is a great looking site (thanks Taylor, Maarit, and Stacey), but because we also reprogrammed the site into a CMS (content management system) which will give the account manager for the website a lot more flexibility for maintaining and updating. It’s a win-win for everyone involved!
So, we welcome you to head over and check out the new site. You can check out the new homepage here. Then, delve into the Internet marketing section for LASIK surgeons and ophthalmologists to find the latest info on search engine marketing, search engine optimization, website design, and more! While you’re there, you can also learn more about Page 1 Solutions and our employees!
In just a few days, three of our employees are going to be heading out to sunny San Diego, to exhibit and present at the annual American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Symposium (ASCRS) and American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators Congress (ASOA) meetings. This large event draws ophthalmologists, and other eye care professionals, from around the world. San Diego has always been a favorite location for the conference and it will take place at the award-winning San Diego Convention Center.
On the exhibit floor, we will have our Senior Internet Marketing Consultant, Clint Macklin, working our booth, #744. We will be unveiling our new booth at this meeting, so if you’re going to be there, stop by and check it out. Clint can also take a look at your website and evaluate your current Internet marketing strategy in a complimentary evaluation. Plus, he’s just a really nice guy!
Elsewhere at the meeting, two members of our management staff will be presenting at ASOA. Our Director of Internet Marketing, Lesa Hastings, will be giving a presentation on how ophthalmic practices should manage their online reputation and social media and how that can effectively supplement their SEO efforts. Page 1’s CEO, Dan Goldstein, will also be presenting at ASOA and he will be discussing how ophthalmology practices can obtain a better ROI on their Web marketing by taking full advantage of website analytics.
You can read more about the upcoming event by checking out our new press release.
